Never take for granted

"Never take for granted" is the title of this month's news letter because as much as I love making music for you fine fans, I can be a bit exuberant when it comes to my practice sessions.
Guitarists and Bassists can tell you that the right fore arm can turn a solid as granite after extended play with their instruments, which is why I found it surprising that my right hand at the wrist just above my thumb started aching yesterday.....after many hours of exuberant guitar playing. Syd, my guitar, had sat un-played due to a lack of strings for a whole week, (starving musician), and when I finally was able to get the thing back to a playable state...I..........sort of............overdid it....
Consider, for a moment, the rubber band;
A clever invention comprised of rubber, designed to hold stuff together while at the same time, offering hours of entertainment in a boring office environment. To stretch one to it's maximum power potential yields a violent reaction, often resulting in either impressive trajectories, or a huge welt, depending on your social class in high school. If pulled beyond it's maximum tolerance, SNAP and the "welt is dealt", unfortunately, to it's handler.
The tendons in my wrist almost became that rubber band, as Pushed the limit, yesterday.
I'm okay, it's just a little challenging to hold a pick or a coffee mug, (and I'm discovering that typing presents a small challenge too). Long story short, (too late), never take for granted parts of your body upon which you rely and more sage advice....if you feel pain anywhere while you are doing something you love....there is such a thing as too much of a good thing
Sing, Dance, Live.
